Biography:
Dr. Guinn is an Associate Professor of Accounting at UNC Charlotte. He was the 1999 recipient of the Bank of America Award for Excellence in Teaching, UNC Charlotte’s most prestigious teaching award. He received the Thomas C. Turner Distinguished Teaching Award from the Accounting Department in 1995 and 2005. His teaching focus is in the areas of financial accounting, auditing and fraud . Dr. Guinn earned his PhD and master’s in accounting from the University of Alabama and his undergraduate degree from Carson-Newman College. He was recognized by the International Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi as an Outstanding Faculty Advisor in 2004. Dr. Guinn’s research interests are in the areas of auditing, fraud, financial accounting and accounting education.
