Lina Zhou is a professor in the Department of Business Information Systems and Operations Management (BISOM) in the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte. Her research interests span the areas of social media analytics, deception detection, knowledge management, biomedical informatics, and intelligent mobile interface. Prior to joining UNC Charlotte, Zhou held a professorship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a research scientist position at the University of Arizona. She has published articles in journals, such as MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Communications of the ACM, ACM Transactions, IEEE Transactions, Information & Management, and Decision Support Systems. Her research has been sponsored by NSF and NSA, among others. Dr. Zhou received the Belk College Distinguished Scholarship in 2024. She has been recognized by Stanford University’s studies as being among the world’s top 2% most cited researchers in the field of information systems for consecutive years. Her scholarly work has been funded by NSF, VA, DoE, and CDC.
